Our Donors Make Miracles Happen!
We Couldn't Have Done It Without You!
The Collingwood G & M Hospital Foundation's (www.cgmhf.com) annual Tree of Life Campaign was extremely successful this year, thanks to the generosity of community donors. Over $440,000 was raised, exceeding the fundraising goal by $65,000. Donations go towards the purchase of a much needed new fluoroscopy/x-ray unit for the Hospital.

| 1st 2009 Simcoe Baby Born at G&M!
Simcoe County's first New Year's baby for 2009 was born at the G&M Hospital. Olivia Jane Eagles, 8 lbs. 1 oz., arrived two weeks early and was born at 2:12 am January 1st. Delighted parents are Shauna & Scott Eagles of Thornbury. Thank you to the G&M Staff and Physicians Dr. Gillian Yeates, Dr. Mike Lewin & Dr. Richard Cornell for delivering and caring for the first baby born in the County!

| 95.1 The Peak FM- Hospital Draw Exceeds Half Million Raised over 29 years!
John Nichols of 95.1 The Peak FM and Charlie Tatham, G&M Hospital Foundation Past Chair, pictured right, draw the names of the lucky Christmas Draw winners out of the thousands of tickets purchased.
 Thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket and/or donated a prize. This year, the Draw and Online Auction raised over $41,000 to help fund the Fluoroscopy Unit (specialized dynamic x-ray) bringing the total of combined money raised over the past 29 years to over $500,000.00!!

Lawrence Hill
 Influenced by the social activism of his parents, Mr. Hill's work deals with the issues of identity and belonging as well as the historical journey of black people in Canada.
Hill's recent novel, "The Book of Negroes" won the overall 2008 Commonwealth Writers' Prize and the 2007 Rogers Writers' Trust Fiction Prize. This masterful and epic novel will form part of the subject of his talk at the Annual Dinner.

Don't Miss This Sell-Out Event!
Registration begins February 1st, 2009
Join us at The Mad River Golf Club Wednesday Sept. 9th for a fun filled day. Sign in at 10 am. Lunch at 11:00am and Shotgun start at 12pm. Your day of golf is followed up with a dinner and silent auction; a perfect end to a great event.
Registrations are accepted on a first-call, first served basis and can be completed over the phone by calling (705) 444-8644. Full payment of $250.00 per person must be made at time of registration. You will receive a $125.00 charitable donation receipt.

| Planned Giving May Qualify for Significant Tax Savings
There are many ways to show your loyalty and  dedication to the G&Marine Hospital. A gift to the Foundation's Endowment Fund is a gift that will replenish itself year after year like the seedling from a flower.
A gift of this nature is typically a bequest in a will, a gift of life insurance, or a gift of securities.
But most of all it is a gift that will give in perpetuity allowing the Hospital to meet the needs of the community for generations to come. Your generosity will be recognized in a truly unique way. As an Endowment Fund donor, you will receive membership in the Dr. A.R. Stephen Society with your name engraved on the wall at the Hospital.
