Everyone has a hard-to-buy-for-person on their list. Here's a simple and wonderful solution - make a donation on their behalf to the Collingwood G&M Hospital Foundation's Tree of Life Campaign.
It's the perfect gift for a friend, family member or business associate, or as a way to honour someone in memoriam.
Government funding barely covers 20% of the Hospital's equipment costs. A donation to the Tree of Life Campaign will help fund the purchase of badly needed diagnostic and surgical equipment. It's a gift idea that will keep on giving for years to come. It's a gift idea that could even save a life.

| 95.1 The Peak FM~Hospital Christmas Draw
It's that time of year again....
Listening to 95.1 The Peak FM Radio on Christmas Eve morning has been a local time honoured tradition for almost thirty years. We listen with hope that we'll hear our name read over the radio as a draw winner for one of the many wonderful prizes donated by local businesses and residents.
Over 29 years, our annual Draw has raised over $500,000! These funds have been used to purchase medical equipment needed at the G&M Hospital. With no dependable government funding for equipment, you can imagine how much our community and the Hospital appreciate your support.
We hope you will again support us by donating an item to be used in the draw. All prizes donated will be announced by John Nichols live on 95.1 The Peak FM radio on Dec. 24th, so listen in!
Thanks to Foley's Furniture for once again donating our grand prize - a Sony 52" XBR High Definition TV with Blue Ray Disk Player.
With visitor restrictions in effect at the G&M Hospital, here's an easy way to buy your Peak FM Draw tickets! At only $2 per ticket, it's a virtual bargain! Click here to make it simple and buy online in a secure environment.

Advance Care Planning Event
Sponsored by the G&M Hospital Foundation
On Oct.19th, members of our community joined us at the Wasaga RecPlex for a very informative session with a panel of experts on the process of Advance Care Planning. Dr. Robert Butcher, a medical ethics expert shared both how and why to plan our medical care and let our wishes be known, particularly for when we may be unable to make decisions about our care.
"It's an important opportunity to help people to grapple with decisions we all may face. I'm happy the G&M Hospital is taking the lead in facilitating the decision making process for staff and your community," said Dr. Butcher.
Like many Canadian hospitals, the G&M Hospital has begun asking admitted patients about their Advance Care plans, so the event was timely indeed.
Local lawyer Michael Stahr also joined us to speak about documenting our advance care plan. His excellent presentation can be viewed by clicking here.
We were also lucky to have panelists Catherine Ritter of the Trillium Gift of Life organization and Dr. Carola Elkhuizen, Family Physician with us to share their expertise.
Copies of "A Guide to Advance Care Planning" can be ordered by calling 1.888.910.1999 for your free copy. Online information about Advance Care Planning in Ontario is available; click here.

Rock Dell dinner a BIG success!
On Monday, Oct. 26th a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters joined host Tom Tesseris and his staff at the Rock Dell Steakhouse & Tavern for a hearty (and plentiful!) dinner to raise funds for G&M Hospital surgical equipment.
Many thanks to Tom for donating not only the event dinners but also bar sale proceeds. Another round of applause goes to Tom's generous staff for donating their time to prepare and serve at the G&M's event.

| More OB Program Launch at G&M
Funded partially by the TD Bank, through the G&M Hospital Foundation, the More OB (Managing Obstetrical Risk Efficiently) program was successfully launched at the G&M Hospital in October.
The program is a comprehensive, three-year patient safety and performance improvement program for caregivers and administrators in hospital obstetrics units. At the G&M, the program will build on proven principles of safety, effective communication, teamwork, decreased heirarchy in emergencies, practice for emergencies and reflective learning. The team includes our two Obstetricians, Dr. Gillian Yeates and Dr. Susan O'Toole, and the G&M's Obstetrical team members. Together they will use shared knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviours to continue to deliver excellence in patient care.
