Arriving in Collingwood in 1885, Dr. A. R. Stephen was the first physician to practice medicine at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital. He was a trusted health practitioner and philanthropist who supported the Hospital, his church and various other charities in Collingwood.

It is in appreciation of Dr. Stephen's life-long charitable support of the Hospital a special recognition society has been named in his honour.

The Dr. A. R. Stephen Society is a unique group of people who have recognized the need for ongoing support of the Hospital and have planned a gift for its future through their wills.

Members of the Dr. A. R. Stephen Society receive special publications, are invited to attend exclusive recognition evenings and have their names permanently engraved (according to their wishes) on the Dr. A. R. Stephen Society Wall.

To become a member of the Dr. A. R. Society, donors must simply make known to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation their intention to make a bequest or other gift through their will. All gift details are kept strictly confidential.
